My dad actually did go - he wasn't very optimistic tho .. said there were so many young people but I keep telling him, they may need older people! and he's pretty big and tough looking so they might need guys like that :) He just paid $20 for them to take photos of him cos he didn't have any and there's no way he would've been able to get them onto a CD - he's a bit of a techno-phobe lol

So did you find the sets ok after I emailed you? Hope you enjoyed a stroll down the main street of Wirrawee :) It's so much more real when you see the sets close up isn't it?!

Hello all,

I'm a long time lurker first time poster.

I just wanted to share that today, they shot a scene where i was an extra. It was great fun, better than i suspected (as extra calls are normally extremely boring). Unfortunately we were not allowed to take photos and we started really early. But the crew was very friendly and they have chosen some pretty good locations that remind me of locations described in the book. I also saw the actors that are to play ellie, homer, kevin and robyn, did i mention it was very early in the morning?They however, looked fresh which is a always helpful being on screen ;).

I cant say too much though, as i have signed a form thingie, so please dont ask too many specific questions.

Hopefully this movie will stay faithful to the fundamental themes of the book, so many people have fallen in love with the characterisation and the concept of this story, I really dont want to see something idiotic and commercialsed.

I have great confidence that Caitlin, Deniz, Lincoln, Chris, Andy, Phoebe, Ashleigh and Rachel are great choices. I will reserve my judgement until the trailer/film/stills are released.

I'd look out for you in the movie but I'm probably going to need a hint to know who you are and when your little bit comes in if it makes it into the final edit. A later date of course, after the premiere maybe, when half our members have already seen it (a few hours, my quess ;)) and you can't get in trouble.

sounds like a fun time. Filming must be well underway then. I guess you can't say roughly what kind of scene you were in? Or even what sort of role you were? Enemy Soldier No 2 perhaps or Showground Prisoner 14 :P

sounds enjoyable though - hope to see you posting more than lurking in future!!

Hi, I have been following the forums for a while but decided to join and share my daughter's excitement.
Not Sure if this should go in this topic but anyway....

Today my daughters and I were driving near home and we ended up passing the current filming location. We saw some of the filming in action and then we drove down a random street and passed Lincoln, Rachael, Chris and Deniz walking around on their day off from filming. My daughter asked if it was ok for her to get a photo and some autographs and the stars couldn't have been any more happy then to pose for photos. They introduced themselves and we talked for about 10 mins. What a great bunch of young people. I am sure they will do the book justice.

My daughter had tried out at Paradox as an extra but as we have not heard anything I guess she didn't get a part.

Sorry about the essay..... BTW my daughter is still on cloud 9.

That's awesome, good to hear that they are nice people.

No problems about the essay either, some of us need ti improve on our reading skills anyway :P :)

Wow, that's so exciting!! I keep looking everywhere when I'm driving round trying to spot them but no luck yet for me!

:( ok no i must be totally rejected! well my parents took me out of school at 11pm on september 25th coz they were taking me. ( nearly peed my pants then :) lol ) well now its 2nd november, so it is a lil bit over a month, and i thik they did the parts with the extras already, but its pretty good coz when u think about it, u get to see it all for the first time, and see the movie magic lol, bad choice of words :)

Interesting ... I wonder if he was a pedestrian in a scene they were shooting before or after the war had began. Because if it's after, that would make him one of the invaders ???
